The short of it: Bubso managed to cause a problem instead of fixing one. Gave the game a good 5 minutes to see if it would un-softlock before closing. My player lay defeated in the lose animation and the game rolled over to the Goblin Kings turn before he managed to attack/me properly losing, leaving the Goblin King to quite literally do a little jig while waiting for me to close the game. The long of it was: after Bubso attacked the boss at the end of his turn, the boss's thorns triggered (result of him getting cursed armor from the 'buy armor for demons' event) knocking down the last 1 HP i had and that caused the game to fully softlock.
